GINGERBREAD HOUSE ENTRY RULES:

Entrants will choose from ONE (1) of the following categories when registering their house:

Advanced: Houses should be made from homemade gingerbread.

Ages 13 and Up: Constructed from homemade gingerbread, premade kits or graham crackers.

Ages 6-12: Constructed from homemade gingerbread, premade kits or graham crackers.

Age 5 and under: Constructed from homeade gingerbread, premade kits or graham crackers. 

1. Houses in all categories must be at least 90% edible, family-friendly, and non-controversial. 

2. Houses travel best on a firm board/cardboard with board measuring between 10-18 inches. Entries outside of these measurements will be placed on an exhibition table for viewing but will not qualify for judging or prizes. 

 

House entry drop-off time: Friday, December 11th between 12:00 PM-3:30 PM, Vestavia Hills Civic Center. 

 

BEFORE YOU REGISTER:

Upon registration, entrants must:

  • Enter the gingerbread artist's first and last name. If you are a parent or guardian registering on behalf of your child, please ensure you list your child's name. 

  • When registering, please enter a phone number that is accessible outside of work hours, as finalists will be notified via phone call on Friday, December 11th, the night before the event.

  • Indicate whether you wish to donate your house or pick it up after the event. Those wishing to pick up their entries should arrive at 11:00 AM Saturday.

 

Houses will be on display to the public on Saturday, December 12 from 8:00 AM-11:00 AM

Photos of winners will be taken for publicity purposes.
